IRS Schedule C Part IV Vehicle Information Worksheet Generator (2026 Tax Year)

If your car moved 16,000 miles in 2026, the business, commuting and other columns must add to 16,000. This worksheet flags a mismatch before you hand the figures to a preparer.

Start with the right trips

Schedule C Part IV asks for the date the vehicle was placed in service, business, commuting and other miles, personal availability, another available vehicle and written evidence. This page checks the mileage reconciliation only; complete the remaining questions on the actual form.

The IRS rate table gives the cents-per-mile amounts. It does not decide whether a particular drive is deductible. Write down why the drive happened before relying on any calculation.

How this worksheet works

Subtract the starting odometer from the ending odometer. The three mileage categories should match that total. If they do not, inspect your source records instead of forcing the numbers to fit.

Keep the records behind the number

Keep service receipts or odometer photos and a trip-level business log. Review the tax-year form instructions because line numbers and filing conditions can change. Some filers must also use Form 4562.

See IRS Publication 463 for travel and car-expense records, and Announcement 2026-11 in IRB 2026-29 for the July rate change. Form requirements can depend on your deduction method and business structure.

Milevaro reports are records of trips logged by the user. They are not IRS-certified and do not guarantee a tax deduction. A deduction lowers taxable income; it is not direct cash back. The estimated deduction is business miles multiplied by a user-set rate and is an estimate, not tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional.
